At long last I got to go on my church's pre-confirmation camp trip. I drove my mom-van with 6 middle schoolers to La Grange, Texas to Camp Lone Star, a Lutheran Camp. Our pastor drove his car with 3 more kids.
My co-pilot working the selfie angle.
We got there in record time! Pastor and I are pretty good driving buddies.
The students got right into get-to-know-you-games and my kids in particular got to being weird. While the rest of the kids from other churches were playing a red light/green light game like normal human beings, some of mine were rolling on the ground and being human hurdles.
The next day was full of activities. I sat my pregnant self down on the ground and laughed and enjoyed how funny these kids are. Clever, clever little buggers.
I don't feel as big as I look but I had to be honest with myself when I decided that wearing Dan's shirts over the weekend would be the best choice. Evidence:
On the way home after spending the day with the kids I got to know that they are really good with bible study, I must admit; super impressed lady over here. But more importantly they are messy, loud, scrappy, goofy kids. Every kid got a bruise and/or a scrape and I no longer trusted them in my car. They broke a few of my rules on the ride over so I put the lock down on food and drinks and was no longer Miss' new, nice lady. I sure do enjoy them one on one, but in packs...(shaking my head).
I am still sore and exhausted from the whirlwind 29 hour trip but so grateful I got to know the middle schoolers in our church better.
Next church event: Trunk or Treat! Stay tuned.
