I took her to the Vet and learned Lily has a cold, a doggie cold virus she picked up from the kennel. She got a shot and is taking TWO antibiotics. Poor pooch is on amoxa...whatever and some other latin thing. All I can say it thank goodness she takes medicine like a champ. That sick dog is a dream and she should be back to normal in a few days.

Bang Bang Got a Cold
Dan and I boarded Lily for the weekend while we were away. On Monday I picked her up and noticed that she was sneezing a bit. Tuesday night when I got home and let Lily in she went straight for a guest bed and stayed there all night. Her appetite wasn't the same and she kept on sneezing. When she did come around me it seemed all she was going to do was sneeze on me. Perhaps she was aiming for my body so the snot would hit me. "Hey mom, guess what, (sneeze) I'm sick"...she got me in the back of my neck, my calves, my face, you name it.
One time I saw a mom of a little boy reach down to wipe her son's nose. She didn't have any tissue. She just used her hand and then put her hand in her jeans pocket to wipe the buggers away. I'm not there yet but I was feeling like a real mom when I put up with my furry child's snot showers.

World's Longest Sniff Fest
This may not be funny to anyone but it sure shows persistence on Lily's part. This went on for about five more minutes. Lily gets home from the kennel and finds out white blanket got to go on vacation without her.
Ah-Ah Hyperventilating!!
Here is the link to watch Mary and Mariya do their qualifying Tech duet from day one, yesterday...Aretha music!!! I'm freaking out and had to post this link as I have the video on "pause" on another google tab....freaking out-so exctied!!!!
Click the link below to see the video. they may ask for your TV provider, they may not (my marketing mind believes this may just be a survey of sorts to see where they need to spend more money on ads for themselves).
Float the Guad
To celebrate my parents 28th Anniversary they bought a fifth wheel and less than twelve hours later they took that thing on vacation to the beautiful Texas hill country.
Dan, Ari, and I drove up to meet them at their shady spot in Canyon lake, near New Braunfels. We planned to float the river but learned that the Guadelupe river had not had the rain water that Southeast Texas had. That being said we tubed anyway.... and so did about 1,500 of our closest friends.
Ari brought combo pretzels to snack on. She threw one to the little duck here. I was so scared that duck was going to choke on the huge pretzel. I told Ari she needed to break up the rest of her shared snacks because if I had to give mouth to mouth to a river duck I was going to slap her on the mouth. No man OR duck shall die on my watch.
That trailer got some thangz on it!!! We must RV in a big-big way.

Before we hit the river we set up our beverages. Dan's G free choice was the Cuervo margarita....say it like Fred, "excellent".
We waited like good boys and girls for the bus to come whisk us away to river rat heaven.
Ari being all "H town" chunkin the duece.

There were so many places where we had to either get out of the tube and push our way over the shallows or Dan and my Dad had to get out and pull us girls. Dan handed me his hat every time. His hat smelled real bad so I placed it on my head to avoid touching it for too long. Later that evening I scrubbed the thing. YUCK!!!!
The happy Couple!!!
"Hey Dan, take our picture!!"
Thumb.
Thumb.
Thumb. lol.
On our way back to Houston, Dan and I had to stop by and see the Marilee (sp?) Wamhoffs in preparation for our adventures in babysitting weekend coming up. Adrienne informed us that Little A had been sour grapes all day and that she needed to nap for as long as possible. She woke up covered in sweat and looked like this. lol her hair was beautiful but she was grumpy face. Luckily this picture has Erika looking lovely as ever to compensate for sour grape baby face. lol. I love the juxtaposition.
Brenner was on fire. Here are just a few short clips of Uncle Dan and Brenner getting down in funky town.
My favorite part of the play time was hearing Adrienne and Greg yelling at Dan to play tougher with Boo. Those parents pull at my heartstrings.

Golden Girls
Last night the Dan Wam Fam saw the girls gymnastic team take gold for the first time since 1996 (thank you commentators for saying that over... and over... and over... and over......geeze...got it. good job.... everybody)! It was an awesome night to watch the games. Lots of U.S. winners in many sports.
As I breezed through all my Olympic DVR'd events Dan looked and me and said, 'you wouldn't be considered Un-American if you didn't watch the games'. To which I ignored and continued on.
Dan was on fire last night with his goofy comments.
Watching the girls compete, "They really DO make this look easy! I can't even roll out of the bed in the morning".

Commenting on the Russians he tells me, "I'm glad you're not Russian. Your hair doesn't start that far back (from your ears)".
I pull my hair back and ask, "Really?!"
He goes, "Yea, give me your phone and I'll take a picture".
That's teamwork.
The Russians had a tough night. Dan said, "Stop sippin' on that vodka...Ah...I'm mean...No, I'm not mean. Screw Rrussia".

Olympic Fever
It's like a disease and I love it! The Olympics are in full swing and our house had the games on during all waking hours. Dan and I fast forwarded through the cycling and men's volleyball and fencing and I didn't even bother with boxing, though I do root for the young American guy that is helping his family pay the bills through his sponsorships-Go that guy! And when it comes to swimming we were being hard core about it and watching them start to finish but we have come to find that if the race is over 100 meters we will fast forward to the end to see if the USA competitor metaled. No USA athelete, no watchy.
Our new favs:
Sync diving-did you see any of that?! It was amazing-The USA girls got silver!
Women's volleyball...if Missy May Trainer is playing
Archery-Dan has decided the next family Olympics will include this sport-"I'm Katniss!"
GYMNASTICS-Always a crowd pleaser. Super obsessed-Geaux Gabby!!
Rowing was pretty cool. Joan let me know last night we are all going to Austin to train. Pack your bags family. I let her know my trainer told me I was his best rower so she is going to want me on her team.
Shooting was great since the USA women, Rhode, shot 99/100. Gold...Fa sho. She was amazing and she looked like a normal person. I DO have a shot gun. Maybe you'll see me in Rio for 2016. Just sayin (Rhode is now, I believe, a five time Olympian, so maybe you wont see me in Rio).
Sync Swim starts this coming Sunday morning at 9am Central time. Nerd alert: Will you watch it and support Mary and Mariya with me? :) This is a pic from Mary's blog showing them at the Opening Ceremony. the girls on the far left and right are the swimmers. The girl in the middle is Sanya Richards-Ross who runs track and field, including the 400 meter.
Below is a link to Mary's blog. You can tell she is pretty funny by the way she writes. She is new to blogging, like me, and she is getting good.
