Dan + Danielle For Like Ever

Dan and I received our wedding trailer from our videographers today, Contrast Films. Dan told me I had to wait and watch it with him for the first time. We met for lunch and immediately pulled it up on his phone. It's exactly how I remembered it lol.

Here it is for you to enjoy too. Thank you to everyone who was able to come and to those who supported us from afar. Click the link below to see our wedding trailer.

Oh Em Gee.

I got a letter from Donald Trump the other day. He asked me to compete in his Miss USA pageant. I was so excited. Then I read that you have to be single, never married. WHERE WAS THIS LETTER YEARS AGO!???? HELLOOOO?! I could have been Miss Texas USA. So close and yet so far. Ya know what, next birthday I'm having a pageant for only people who are married or have been married. Boys AND Girls. Winner gets a sash and flowers. Done. Oh. And confetti. Lots of confetti. I'll have my mom direct it. She won a St Patrick's Day pageant back when I was a baby and she was married. I think her title was "Ms. Erin Go Braugh", or something. Now that's a pageant. Look for your e-vites in 2013.

Four The Record

Friday Night my friend Celia and I went to see the Miranda Lambert concert for an "on our own birthday celebration". The husbands stayed home and we went crazy. We went to dinner at Tokyo and had hibachi. So Yummy! This is the picture we sent Dan to let him know we were up to no good.

At the arena we had good seats. Unfortunately I was next to a broad shouldered man and we were both uncomfortable trying to stay clear of touching.
I'm pretty sure this was a face she was making for the girl seated next to her in our first set of seats. The girl was funny. She made her boyfriend switch seats with her so he wasn't next to Celia. Even with her goofy face in this picture she still looks super cute all dolled up!

The openers were Josh Abbot Band and Wade Bowen I love them both but I know more Wade Bowen so his set was the bomb. Minus his crazy back up singer lady who was nut-so. So into herself. It was amazing. to be honest though, I would probably sing just like she did up on the stage.

To get away from crazy girlfriend and broad shoulder guy,Celia and I spotted across the arena a big empty section so we headed over there and took over a top row where we danced the night away and made friends with the crazy ladies in the club room above us.

The show went on pretty quickly from act to act which was weird and delightful. Usually shows I go to take forever to get going.
Miranda looked beautiful. Makes me feel good as a curvy girl to see her up there rockin' it.

I love that pink microphone. Apparently her hubby, Blake Shelton, gave it to her as a present. Dan, can I have a pink microphone? jk. I'll settle for a pink bull horn so I can yell at you when you're in the shop.

The best part came when the Pistol Annies came out for a few songs.  They are so cute and sassy with their offensive country music.

Miranda Sang:
Over You, her newest single
Only Prettier, her first big hit
House that Built Me, makes me cry
All Kinds of Kinds, the first song on her Four the Record Album-very fun to sing along too
Baggage Claim, the explicit version
Fastest Girl in Town
Mama's Broken Heart

and maybe a few others...?

Boot picture!!! After the show we headed downtown to go dancing. What happened that night was enough fun and excitement to hold me over for weeks.

I Got A Lizard Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey!

Last night is was raining outside in a calm and beautiful way so Dan and I sat outside on the swing to enjoy it.   On the swing was one of Lily-Dog's favorite things, a lizard. It hung out on the swing with us for a bit then spider man jumped to a Christmas light strand I have refused to take down. I decided to be brave and grab it. Me and the lizard cuddled. Dan got the iPhone for pics.

This is the part where Dan got the flash going and said, "Lizard PHOTOSHOOT"!!

I'm American. I Like Cold Drinks.

For the field day party we had two vodka and liquor punches set up. I wanted to keep them cold and as flavorful as possible throughout the night so I wanted some serious ice. I made crystal light in each water bottle and laid them on their sides in the freezer overnight. You can see some space along the right side of the bottle.

The bottles were super thin and easy to cut apart with kitchen scissors to get the ice out. You can see below, the bottle on the left has the plastic "banana peeled" back.

These are the ice "logs" sitting in the beverage dispenser waiting to chill a high powered drink. I was super excited this worked. The ice lasted for several hours and they released their pink lemonade flavor as they melted. I can't wait to make different flavors in the future.

Field Day was a Success!!!

At the beginning of the party, teams were selected by people reaching into a bag to select their bandanna. We had two teams of four and one team of five. We didn't worry about the no spouses on the same team for the sake of just getting the party rolling. It worked out just fine. The teams were perfect.
Blue Team

Red Team, later lovingly rename Team F"red" because he was the star athlete.

Team White

The first game we played was the actual hammer-Hammer Throw. We had five hammers for people to chose from. When we were practicing the police rolled up and sat watching us for awhile. My Dad told everyone to drop their hammers and act normal lol The boys grabbed the footballs and starting passing and the girls milled about until the coast was clear. I do not have any pictures of this situation or the hammer throwing...I was a little stressed thinking my whole field day was about to ruined so I wasn't thinking about documenting it. After the cop left we got started. The Hammer Throw was a great way to break the ice for everyone starting off. We all had to do something goofy. The rest of the day was nothing compared to that. Below shows the next game, Long Jump.

Kelly marked the spot where someone told Mike he had to jump to. He ALMOST made it. lol I'm not sure actually.

Of course the dancer wants to try and grand jete. At least she flexed her foot like a track and field star.

Below are our punters.

My Dad saw this picture yesterday of himself and said, "shankapotomus".

Fred is still mad Dan had the punt of his life and beat his distance.

Below are pictures of the teams going out to the 50 yard line to throw the discuss. When you threw we counted the distance including if the Frisbee rolled. We prayed for good rolls.

Team F"red"

Team White

Ladies watching the Long Jump in the shade.

below is the list of games. We did not do the Torch Relay. No one wanted to run lol We did not do the cannon ball splash either. Everyone was pretty tired of competing by that point, myself NOT included though. I wanted more competition to play in. We couldn't have won at that point but my team could have really brought it in cannon ball splash. Alas, people preferred ending the games early. No problem. It's a democracy not a dictatorship. Team F"red" won Gold. Blue got Silver and White got Bronze. The players got their medals and we drank the night away reminiscing on the day's events.

Balloon shaving was a bust. The razors really could not pop the balloon. We tried. So...next year we joked that we will use straight razor blades.

Look how cute my husband is...so presh.

That was an awesome day with friend's and family. I look forward to doing it again.
